Citation :
PROOPTIKI S.A. (now called Audio Visual Enterprises S.A. as of 01/12/2006) was established in 1984 as a theatrical distribution company, representing Columbia-Tristar Film Distributors International (now SONY Pictures Releasing International) in Greece and Cyprus. In 1992, it obtained the theatrical rights for Buena Vista International (Walt Disney, Touchstone) thus achieving a particularly significant place in the theatrical entertainment sector. Moreover, Prooptiki S.A. is active in the production of Greek films (such as 5' Lepta Akoma, Straight Story, and Mia Melissa Ton Avgousto).

In 1999 it acquired the Video/DVD distribution rights of SPHE (Sony Pictures Home Entertainment) with which collaborations continue to date via her affiliated company SPHE Hellas, while in 2002 with BBC, DISCOVERY...

Throughout these years, the company successfully handles a series of independent films in all media (theatrical, Video/DVD, pay and free TV).

In 2002, Prooptiki embarked in an expansion program in the Balkans with the subsidiary company of PROOPTIKI ROMANIA, which today constitutes one of the most significant companies in the entertainment sector in Romania. The course of PROOPTIKI ROMANIA (which will soon be called AUDIO VISUAL ROMANIA):
2002: Acquired SPHE (Sony Pictures Home Entertainment)
2003: Acquired Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and the British BBC.
2004: Acquired BVHE (Buena Vista Home Entertainment)
2005: Obtained the theatrical rights for Buena Vista International (Walt Disney, Touchstone)

In 2004, Prooptiki S.A. expanded in two more Balkan countries. In Serbia, where it established Prooptiki Entertainment (Belgrade) d.o.o. - which will soon be called AUDIO VISUAL ENTERTAINMENT (Belgrade) d.o.o. - and obtained the Video/DVD distribution rights of Buena Vista Home Entertainment and in Bulgaria, where Prooptiki Bulgaria Ltd. - which will soon be called AUDIO VISUAL BULGARIA – obtained the Video/DVD distribution rights of Universal and BBC, as well as a considerable number of theatrical and Video/DVD independent titles. Finally, in 2006, the company obtained the exclusive theatrical distribution rights of U.I.P.

In December 2005, Audio Visual Enterprises (AVE), member of the Athens Stock Exchange, acquired PROOPTIKI S.A., with the intention of merging it into a company, active, amongst others, in the theatrical, Video and DVD distribution sector, as well as TV sales and other media exploitation. Audio Visual Enterprises, one of the most significant entertainment companies in the Greek market, has widely infiltrated this sector by acquiring Ster Cinemas Multiplex, with at total of 53 silver screens, 51% of Allou Fun Park, the largest entertainment theme park in Greece, On Productions, one of the leading TV production companies in Greece, as well as Power Music Productions and VML S.A. Audio Visual Enterprises entered the Greek Stock Market as of June 2005 (www.audiovisual.gr).

This merger constitutes an important change in the Greek audiovisual distribution sector, as it results in the creation of a large, powerful corporation, which, through important synergies and economies of scale, will take a leading role in a business sector with great potential for development and international expansion.

En tout cas, je suis bien heureux qu'ils ne prennent pas Ubi ou Codemaster, qui on l'art de bien planter les jeux...
Reste plus qu'a croiser les doigts en espérant que la société grec soit réellement compétente.

Wait & See.

Publishing and game site article

I see the community has already discovered a couple of news items so I'll briefly comment on them:

As we've mentioned before we had been working on a self-publishing deal, and we've signed with AudioVisual Enterprises to work with us on the European distribution end of Darkfall's publishing. We will make an official announcement on this when it's time for it. Being a public company they are obligated to make a report of their dealings to the stock market and that's the announcement you read about. We're very happy to be working with them especially since we participate in the management of the project.

About an article that appeared on a Greek game site on a short presentation I made at a Greek game developer conference, it's obvious that it contains many inaccuracies and mistakes due to limited knowledge on our game and company. I'm misquoted and misrepresented in the article and I sent them a correction request a few days ago but I see they haven't fixed it yet.

What I said about Neocron specifically is that before Darkfall, the principles of Aventurine had looked at that game as a possible MMO title to be involved with.
PS: Dogmeat bouge toi le fion, ça mérite une news.
WOOT
J'adore la fin,

Ils vont avoir réussi leur jeu s'ils pensaient que NC conviendrait

Bon sinon Distributeur = Publisher = Editeur?

As i already said audiovisual is a huge, respected and quite old company,i dont think there is a greek who doesnt know of this company. Some of you may think that audiovisual since its not specialized in the gaming distribution sector they gonna mess up...i say to you beyond any doubt NO WAY they are not some amateurs behind a desk be shure of that....

Also the fact that audiovisual is creating a gaming department especially for Darkfall and future games is huge news too...a company like audiovisual would not take this kind of step without strongly believing that Darkfall is a 100% winner....

If you read older posts of mine you will see that i am very skeptic and not a blinded fanboi but after that info i really cannot have any legitimate doubt about the actuall game existance, all we need to find out now is if all the features promised are there....
