Citation :
08:30 PM Ramen: Hi all!
08:30 PM Ramen: Ramen here, Online Community Relations for AC2
08:31 PM Citan: and Citan, I produce the updates for AC2
* Soulshadow waves
08:31 PM Soulshadow: Hi everyone
08:31 PM Soulshadow: Soulshadow here, Producer and SGM at Jolt
C'est ici : http://ac2.warcry.com/chat/
08:35 PM _Argentrose_: Thanks, y'all! And with that: Be sure to get in your questions to our lovely QT's! Send those questions on over to QT-Dangermouse, QT-Maedhros, QT-TeCapio, and QT-Wolfstar!
08:35 PM _Argentrose_: And let's get to our first question!
Citation :
08:35 PM _Argentrose_: First Question: <Mordan> Schedule: Can you give us a more detailed schedule when the service will be transferred to Jolt?
08:36 PM Ramen: We’ve been hard at work on the Jolt transition, and players will start to see big changes very soon. On November 30, the Abendgrau, Soleilcouche, and Dawnsong databases will be copied for migration to the new Jolt server farm. But out in style. November 30th will be a special day-long "Farewell to Dublin" party.
08:36 PM Ramen: On December 1, the current European worlds will go down for good. Then, on December 2, your new Jolt worlds will open, with the version of your character records from before the "party" day.

Citation :
08:37 PM _Argentrose_: <Mordan> Lag: Have you studied the current server
environment considering the bandwidth and performance of the servers so you can
give an honest opinion that hosting by Jolt will make the lag in Dawnsong disappear
or lessen?
08:40 PM Soulshadow: we are very confident that the Jolt network will help to solve the
server side lag that people have experienced, we have worked hard on the
infrastructure to support Ac2 and feel the players will see the benefits
08:41 PM Citan: The new Euro worlds should have less stability problems than the
Dublin center has, also
Citation :
08:41 PM _Argentrose_: <Mordan>Now that EU playes cannot propably play anymore in US servers, will you give option to transfer the US toons to EU servers?
08:44 PM Lawrence: Before we come to that question, I'd also like to say that, as previously stated on the AC2 forums, we will also provide entirely new Server Hardware for to further decrease latency and connectivity problems.
08:47 PM Citan: Well, keep in mind that the Jolt billing transfer isn't happening yet. In
the short term, all players will be transferring from Microsoft Billing to Turbine Billing.
That will happen first. And then, some time after that, players will choose whether to
play on the Jolt or US servers. It's a bit away -- not something you have to worry about
right around the corner. The issue of character transfers between US/Euro worlds is
still being loo
08:48 PM Citan: ked into.
08:48 PM Citan: looked into

Citation :
08:49 PM _Argentrose_: <|Rusty|> Turbine offers the 3 local european server with
different languages. Many people complain about the situation ingame that support is in english although. Many of them cannot speak english and therefore they play on these servers. Is Jolt planning to bring up german and french speaking admins?
08:49 PM Gevrik: I'll have that one, as it is about support
08:50 PM Gevrik: Jolt will be able to support all European AC2 worlds in their native language. Our support team is made up of French, German and English language native speakers!

Citation :
08:54 PM _Argentrose_: <|Rusty|> Will be there a downtime when moving the Datacenters? How long will these take?
08:55 PM Ramen: The total "downtime" should be a day, but remember; the final day of Dublin Servers on November 30th will not count towards normal player progression. Anything you do on that day will be erased. The worlds will not be down on Nov. 30th, but they will not be business as usual either!
08:56 PM Ramen: The actual "business as usual worlds will be live again on at some point on December 2.

Citation :
08:59 PM _Argentrose_: <Mordan> Billing: There has been talk about possible billing changes for European customers and the answer has been "There propably are no changes" Can you confirm the pricing?
09:01 PM Lawrence: Understandably, there's been some confusion as to whether or not there would be any changes to the subscription fees. The answer is no.
09:01 PM Citan: Some players have mentioned that they are paying much more than US players have to pay, due to Microsoft billing policies. After you transfer to Turbine billing, you will be paying approximately the same amount from any country. And after you transfer to Jolt, you'll still be paying the same amount.

Citation :
09:06 PM _Argentrose_: <Mordan> Live Events: Are there plans set stone that there will be frequent live events arranged by Jolt?
09:07 PM shadowwing: Jolt will be arranging both short term and long term live events, we are absolutely committed to making playing on the European servers a fun and exciting experience.

Citation :
09:11 PM _Argentrose_: follow up to the pricing: <Sparhwk> Isn't that a contradiction? Lawrence says "no changes", while what Citan says comes down to a reduction in price for EU players or an increase for US players, actually.
09:12 PM Ramen: The reduction in price Citan is referring to is due to a billing "glitch" in the way Microsoft calculates international rates for the subscription rate of AC2.

Citation :
09:15 PM _Argentrose_: <Brogan_HUnter> How are you planning to improve the
service for Europeans?
09:17 PM Soulshadow: Things we are aiming for to help give the European players a service suited to them include as we've mentioned multi language support will be key, along with support geared towards our time zones. We have a team trained and ready to roll.
09:19 PM shadowwing: We are also planning live events for the future geared to European times

Citation :
09:23 PM _Argentrose_: <Mordan> EU PvP: Now that EU players are not in the future able to anymore play in US PvP world, does Jolt plan to set up a PvP server in EU
datacenter?
09:23 PM Lawrence: We will not be providing a new PvP Server at first, but we will be monitoring community feedback closely and if there is enough interest in a European PvP Server, we will look into it.
09:23 PM Lawrence: Done.
