In Their Absence, ~or~ “Can’t the World Just STAY Saved?” By: TsiengLiu Truthfully? No, the world can’t just stay saved, but it’s good to want for things. As you all know, there are strange things afoot across the land. Mysterious forces are at work and, now that the Rangers have ventured south (something some of you helped happen I might point out), it falls to heroes such as yourselves to keep the peace. What’s in Store Five different pieces of instanced content await you. I won’t spoil all the details of what goes where (and frankly most of you seem quite adept at figuring this out on your own) but our next cluster of instances will include: * Two three-person instances * Two six-person instances * One 12-person raid All but one instance features three boss encounters and the raid features six. J-dub has his own Dev Diary covering the raid of course, so you’ll need to read that for details on the raid. Challenge Me! An array of Deeds, challenges, and a meta-reward await those of you who are willing to test yourselves. One new change for this cluster is that our new instances now come in two difficulties eloquently named “Tier 1” and “Tier 2.” This is consistent with our Skirmish difficulty system so it shouldn’t come as too great a surprise. Tier 1 is intended to be easier than the difficulty of the Mirkwood cluster while Tier 2 should prove to be quite a challenge in comparison. With these new difficulties available we’ve restricted challenges (or “hard modes” as you may call them) to Tier 2 difficulty. You can only complete challenges on Tier 2 difficulty. This time around our meta-deed reward is visually distinct from other rewards we’ve given in the past. Keep your eyes open for players capable of tackling our greatest challenges. You might find yourself quite surprised by the reward! Also waiting for those willing to push the limits of our game is a special Deed for the first group to… Well you’ll have to figure that one out on your own. ~_^ * LFG) LFG – Sword Halls Hard Mode * LFG) Sword Halls Group needs Mini * LFG) Champion looking for hard mode sword halls group Yeah, we’re not too proud of hearing that. We can’t imagine that an overwhelmling majority of you enjoyed grinding one instance over and over and over. To help with the currency grind and to ease your play cycle a bit, we’re implementing a new system this time around. Starting with this group of instances, barter currency is now only awarded by completing instance-bestowed quests. Thanks to some new technology, these new quests will be completable only twice per week. These quests reset just as though they were on the twice-a-week raid reset timer. Your ability to complete them and then retry them behaves in the same manner. What does this mean for our players? You will only get barter currency the first time you successfully complete the quests associated with one of these instances during each lock period. After that, you will either need to tackle a different instance from the cluster that you haven’t already or you can wait for the next lock period to try the same quest again. Please note that you are perfectly free to run any given instance as many times as you like if all you want is to try and get that shiny new piece of loot you know drops there. The quest simply won’t be bestowed upon you again until the next lock out period. Also, should you fail to complete the quest; you are free to try again. You are only “locked” to the quest once you have completed it. In addition, the costs for barter currency have been inflated significantly. Should we find ourselves in a crazy situation where one instance gets run far more than the others (or far less, hi there Dungeons of Dol Guldur!) we’ll be able to change the barter currency distribution to compensate. To put this all together, we hope that players will be encouraged to try all of our instances and won’t feel compelled to run only the most time efficient instance in order to acquire the necessary barter currency for the new armour sets. We also hope that this keeps players from burning out on our new content and keep players from falling behind if they can’t play as much as they might like. If you can play each instance twice a week, you’ll keep pace. New Barter Currency You Say? With our new cluster comes a new barter currency that players will be able to trade in for class-specific sets of armour. That’s nothing particularly new, but the way we are allowing players to purchase these items is. There are now two versions of each class’ armour set: one rare, one incomparable. They are essentially the same set and will feature many of the same bonuses, but the incomparable version will feature more bonuses as the set is acquired as well as bearing two skill modifications. In contrast, the rare set will only feature one skill modification. There will be multiple ways these sets can be purchased. For the rare version of the class armour: * Can be purchased with just barter currency: This will take the longest amount of time but can be done without ever stepping foot in the raid. * Can be purchased with barter currency and a special barter token: This will cost you less barter currency, but does require participating in the raid. Note that this only requires participating in the Tier 1 version of the raid. For the epic version of the set, you will need to participate in the Tier 2 difficulty raid. Even so, there are two options for players to purchase the items in their class’ epic armour set: * Trading up: If you have the Tier 2 token and the Tier 1 armour piece for the same slot you can upgrade to the Tier 2 armour piece at the cost of some barter currency. * Straight to Tier 2: If you decided to skip straight to Tier 2 you can do so with a Tier 2 barter token and more barter currency. Each option requires the use of barter currency. Expect to tackle all of the instances, their quests, Deeds and their challenges if you wish to acquire your class armour set. But Wait, There’s More! In addition to the armour sets there are several other interesting items for players to acquire as they defeat the denizens of our dungeons: * A set that rewards you for having any two pieces equipped. There are several pieces in the set so players can pick and choose the items they deem most valuable and still gain the benefits of the set bonus. * Some very interesting weapons: o A dagger that lowers the target’s armour! o A sword that increases light damage taken by the target * New shields! (You can put the turtle shell down now.) * Cool new pocket items * A cloak that will make the collective jaws of the tactical-based dps drop to the floor * Super rare housing goodies * First age crafting components * A second set of raid armour with different skill mods applied. This should satisfy those players wishing to support their non-traditional, non-group-focused trait line. |

personnellement je trouve qu'un timer est juste une manière de ralentir la progression des joueurs.
